Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick talked about U.S. policy in Africa and violence in the Darfur region of Sudan. He spoke about the history and geography of the region, sources of tension, and various efforts to bring about a comprehensive peace settlement. Following his opening presentation his answered questions from the audience.

Following the opening remarks Carlos Pascual moderated a panel on peacekeeping efforts, the status of refugees, and the future of the region. They also answered questions from members of the audience. close
