State Department officials released the congressionally-mandated Country Report on Terrorism for 2005. Topics included the global terrorist threat, strategic assessment, al Qaeda leaders, regional collaborative efforts to deny terrorists safe haven, political and economic injustice, the Trans-Sahara Counterterrorism Initiative, local threats from small terrorist cells, and the integration of terrorists and criminal enterprises. After their presentation they answered reporters' questions. close
