Malcolm Gladwell was interviewed about his experiences as a professional author and his body of work. Among the topics he addressed were the influences on his writing, his career in journalism, the publishing business, and his perception of current events.

He was the author of Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, published by Little, Brown and Company, which studied the way people made split-second decisions and other “unthinking” reactions. His previous book The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference, published by Little, Brown, and Company, was a collection of his New Yorker essays. He used lessons learned from contemporary social and psychological research and epidemiology to show why some events take hold in cultures while others do not. close
