Clark Kent Ervin talked about his book Open Target: Where America Is Vulnerable to Attack, published by Palgrave Macmillan. Mr. Ervin, former inspector general of both the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department, explained why he thinks Americans are vulnerable to terrorist attacks despite changes in homeland security since September 11, 2001. He argued that the Bush administration’s concentration needs to be on accountability, accessing more funding, and attaining experienced leadership with expertise in the field of security. He outlined why America will remain an easy target if these recommendations are not implemented. After his presentation he answered audience members' questions. close
