Andrew Kohut was interviewed about his book America Against the World: How We Are Different and Why We Are Disliked, published by Times Books. The book, which he wrote with Bruce Stokes, features the results of a vast global opinion survey, polling 91,000 respondents in 50 countries, done by the Pew Research Center. Mr. Kohut explained that Americans' individualism and go-it-alone attitude have contributed to an increase in anti-Americanism around the globe in recent years. He also said that other nations often misjudge Americans, overestimating the importance that religion and patriotism play in our foreign policy decisions. Mr. Kohut was interviewed by Brooks Jackson.

As well as being the president of the Pew Research Center, Mr. Kohut is the director of the Pew Research Center for People and Press and the Pew Global Attitudes Project.
