The Commission’s Chairman Hans Blix presented the report from the international Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. The report was also presented to Jan Eliasson, who received it in his capacity as both Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and president of the U.N. General Assembly. Mr. Blix responded to questions from the reporters.

The WMD Commission was launched by the Government of Sweden in Stockholm on December 16, 2003 to respond to the recent, profoundly worrying developments in international security, and in particular to investigate ways of reducing the dangers from nuclear, biological, chemical and radiological weapons. close
