Leon Panetta moderated a discussion between former U.S. Senator and Majority and Minority Leader Tom Daschle and former U.S. Senator and U.N. Ambassador John Danforth. This final event in the Leon Panetta 2006 Lecture Series, “How to Balance National Security and Freedom in Our Democracy,” was held at the Naval Postgraduate School. Topics included relationship between a strong economy and a strong democracy. The panelists also talked about protecting security and fundamental freedoms in a democracy. close
