Jon Meacham was interviewed by Professor Gordon about his book, American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation, published by Random House. Mr. Meacham talked about religion, the role religion should play in public life, and the history of the constitutional separation of church and state. He discussed how the Founding Fathers shaped America’s political ideals around religion. He also responded to questions from members of the audience.
