Editors and columnists talked about the launch of a new journal for progressive political ideas, Democracy: A Journal of Ideas. The panel focused on the role of ideas in contemporary politics, development of new ideas and philosophies which might shape future political discourse, the role that academic journals have played in shaping the American political landscape, and the relevance of journalistic forums for both progressive and conservative policymakers.
