Pre-Iraq War Intelligence The Senate Democratic Policy Committee held an oversight hearing on how pre-war intelligence was used in regard to Iraq. Former CIA and State Department officials and others talked about their experiences and the key episodes in the history of pre-Iraq War intelligence gathering. Topics included understanding what happened in the decision to go to war in Iraq, the lack of intelligence sharing, predicting the costs of restoring Iraq after a war, the responsibility for intelligence in the future, winning the war of ideas against al-Qaeda, and understanding the nature of the enemy.
