A report on “Preventing Medication Errors” was released by the Institute of Medicine at the National Academies. Members of the committee that wrote the report spoke to the press about a number of issues in the report such as prescriptions, patient responses to medication, drug quality, as well as recommendations to mitigate potential harms to patients.
