The Senate Foreign Relations Committee held a hearing on the extradition treaty between the United States and the United Kingdom. The U.K. has already enacted the terms of the treaty, which eased extradition procedures into law and has urged the United States to ratify the treaty. Irish-American groups fear the treaty will enable the U.K to prosecute Irish-Americans who support separatists in Northern Ireland. close
