Governor Murkowski addressed a joint session of the state legislature about a shutdown of oil pipelines operated by British Petroleum due to concerns over oil leaks and environmental safety. He spoke about his administration’s interim management plan to address the interruption of oil supply from Prudhoe Bay, and plans to resume oil and gas production which accounted for 80% of the state’s revenue. close
