Law enforcement officials informed reporters about arrests around the country as a result of a wide-spread narcotics trafficking operation. The operation, called Black Gold Rush, specifically targeted the sale and distribution of black tar heroin from sources in Mexico. The operation resulted in 138 arrests in 15 cities and disrupted the distribution of 8 kilograms of heroin worth approximately $2 million on the street. Officials also responded to questions from reporters. close
