Acting Secretary of Transportation Cino announced an aggressive new national enforcement crackdown on impaired drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also released final 2005 statistics on alcohol-related traffic fatalities, including state-by-state statistics and data on counties in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area. The news conference included a demonstration of a field sobriety test on an impaired person and distribution of media materials for the publicity campaign. Participants also answered questions from reporters. close
