Mr. Clemons moderates a discussion on the moral dimensions of United States policy toward the Middle East. Panelists talked about efforts to combat terrorism in the region, military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. policy toward conflict between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, and efforts to persuade Iran to comply with United Nations resolutions on its nuclear development programs. They also talked about public opinion of U.S. foreign policy, challenges to democratic movements in the Middle East, and the influences of Islamic fundamentalism in the region. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
