Participants talked about impact of hurricanes Katrina and Rita on Louisiana communities. They talked about recovery and reconstruction efforts over the first year since the hurricanes devastated portions of the Gulf Coast, coordination between federal state and local agencies, local programs and incentives to rebuild, and challenges left in reconstruction of the area. They also spoke about economic conditions in the area, rebuilding efforts in various communities, future environmental and infrastructure protection, and policy development for long-term recovery. They also responded to questions from the audience. close
