The Senate Foreign Relations Committee held a business meeting, in part, to vote on ambassadorial nominations. Six nominations were approved by voice vote. The nominations included John C. Rood to be Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Non-Proliferation; Cesar Benito Cabrera to be Ambassador to the Republic of Mauritius, and to serve concurrently as Ambassador to the Republic of Seychelles; Cindy Lou Courville to be U.S. Representative to the African Union, with the rank of ambassador; Donald C. Johnson to be ambassador to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea; Mary Martin Ourisman to be Ambassador to Barbados, and to serve concurrently as ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
