There Goes My Everything
Jason Sokol talked about his book There Goes My Everything: White Southerners in the Age of Civil Rights, 1945-1975, published by Knopf. He described the experiences of white Southerners during the Civil Rights movement. He said he used public records and interviews to detail how middle and working-class whites dealt with changes brought on by the movement, including the Brown v. Board of Education decision and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. After his presentation the author responded to audience members' questions. close
