Making Globalization Work
This event was hosted by the World Bank, where Mr. Stiglitz was formerly chief economist.
Economist Joseph Stiglitz talked about his book Making Globalization Work, published by W.W. Norton. He discussed the pros and cons of globalization, examining such issues as trade, intellectual property, global warming, and economic institutions. He argued that multinational institutions too often cater to the interests of advanced industrial countries. This was followed by comments by Mr. Gelb. Then Professor Stiglitz responded to audience members' questions.
