Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John Warner spoke about the situation in Iraq and his observations on the security of the country following a trip to the region. He said that some parts of the country had taken “steps backwards” and that the United States was at risk of losing the campaign to control an increasingly violent Baghdad. He also said that the U.S. should reevaluate its approach in Iraq if the situation did not improve dramatically over the next several months. Following his remarks he answered questions from reporters. close
