Andrew Sullivan talked about his book The Conservative Soul: How We Lost It, How to Get It Back, published by HarperCollins. Mr. Sullivan argued that conservatives are no longer the party that supports limited government and balanced budgets. He said that evangelical Christians within the party are using religious ideologies to support laws that encourage government intrusion and threaten civil liberties. Mr. Sullivan was joined by David Brooks in a discussion moderated by Mr. Boaz about the changes in conservative ideals and mission. They answered questions from members of the audience. close
