Francis Fukuyama gave a keynote lunch address on “The Geo-Strategic Role of the United States in the World With Reference to Central Europe.” He talked about a number of topics including historical attitudes to national identity and sovereignty, the role of international institutions, attitudes toward the uses of military force, and relations between Europe and the U.S. Following his remarks he answered questions form the audience.

The conference on “Transatlantic Agenda: Challenges for the 21st Century Mending Fences with America’s European Allies” was co-hosted by the Johns Hopkins University /SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations and the Center for European Policy Analysis. close
