Nicholas Burns spoke to an audience on US-Afghanistan economic, political, and social relations.

Burns claimed that the Bush administration’s mission is to secure a “prosperous, open, stable, and also peaceful” Afghanistan. Burns applauded Afghanis for their continued perseverance under the occupation of several different totalitarian regimes and urged them to continue the “march forward” to democracy. Burns also largely stressed education as one of the most important factors in the continued economic and social development of Afghanistan. close
