Nathaniel Fick and Dr. Jonathan Shay were interviewed about their books at Dr. Shay’s home in Newton, Massachusetts. They talked about the experiences of soldiers going to and returning home from war. Mr. Fick served in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Dr. Shay has worked with Vietnam veterans for 20 years.

Nathaniel Fick is the author of One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine Officer, published by Houghton Mifflin. Dr. Jonathan Shay is the author of Odysseus in America: Combat Trauma and the Trials of Homecoming, published by Scribner. close
