Lisa Alecxih announced the release her study that shows that over the past 20 years, a significant number of senior citizens, particularly among the “oldest old,” persons 85 and older, have been choosing to stay in their homes rather than move to nursing homes. She said she used the National Nursing Home Survey from the National Center for Health Statistics database. The panelists then discussed her study and this trend in long term care for a growing group of retirees. They also responded to audience members' questions. close
