While not an authorized biography, Secretary Powell participated in six on-the-record interviews and also provided Ms. DeYoung with unrestricted access to his personal and professional military papers. The guest interviewer was Brigadier General Charles Brower.
General Brower is deputy superintendent for academics and dean of the faculty of the Virginia Military Institute. He served as an Army aide to President Ronald Reagan.
