Guests talked about cases being heard later in the day by the U.S. Supreme Court on the constitutionality of racial school integration plans in Louisville, Kentucky, and Seattle, Washington. Mr. Shaw filed a brief in support of the states which currently allow race to be a factor in determining where children will be assigned for school. Mr. Beard filed a brief in support of Seattle and Louisville parents who sued their school districts for discriminating against their children based on race. The cases were Parents Involved in Community Schools v. Seattle School District No. 1 and Meredith v. Jefferson County (KY) Board of Education. close
