Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, president of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) and the leader of the United Iraqi Alliance, spoke about his perspectives on reconciliation between sectarian factions in Iraq. Among the issues he addressed were ethnic and regional differences in the Iraqi population, regional interests in the future of Iraq by neighboring countries, and challenges to building political stability in a newly democratic Iraq. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
