Members of the opposition party questioned Prime Minister Robert Hawke about a challenge to his leadership by a member of his own Labor Party, Paul Keating, who was the Treasurer and Deputy Prime Minister at the time. Mr. Hawke defeated the challenge and has decided to run for a fifth term in 1993. The Australian Parliament, located in Canberra, has 148 members representing four different parties. Members questioned the Prime Minister about a number of issues, including several internal business scandals and injustices in elections, as well as the current skepticism of the Prime Minister and his government. close
