Alice Walker talked about her book We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For: Light in a Time of Darkness, published by New Press. The book is an anthology of essays and speeches she has delivered over the years to college students, Buddhists, midwives, and black yoga instructors. Ms. Walker offered commentary on several themes, including simpler living, war resistance, meditation and feminism. After her presentation she responded to audience members' questions. close
