Fraudulent Work-at-Home Programs Officials representing the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service announced a major effort by law enforcement targeting fraudulent business opportunities and work-at-home scams. The effort, titled “Project False Hopes,” would regulate and restrict advertising of fraudulent schemes and coordinate information about past offenders. Victims of these scams also spoke about their experiences with the fraudulent offers. They also answered questions from reporters. close
