Author Taner Akcam talked about his book, A Shameful Act: The Armenian Genocide and the Question of Turkish Responsibility, published by Metropolitan Books. Professor Akcam talked about the 1915 Armenian Genocide that claimed the lives of over one million Armenians. He examined the Ottoman Turks' response to the charge that they were committing genocide and also discussed the current Turkish government’s description of what happened. The author responded to audience members' questions.
