Final events of the state funeral of former President Gerald R. Ford included a private service at Grace Episcopal Church, where President and Mrs. Ford were married, and the interment service at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. Speakers at the funeral service included former President Jimmy Carter, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, historian Richard Norton Smith, sons Michael and Steven Ford, and several grandchildren. Vice President Dick Cheney presented Mrs. Ford with the flag that had draped the casket at the interment service. The events also included military honor guards rendering honors and a 21-gun salute, musical tributes and hymns, and the official motorcade. close
