The Iraq Study Group report released in early December noted that estimates of unemployment in Iraq range between 20 and 60 percent. Mr. Barton talked about the ways that the Iraqi economy and unemployment situation relates to security in the country. He also talked about the speech expected from President Bush in the next week outlining his new Iraq policy.
Barton was an adviser to the Iraq Study Group on the economy and reconstruction of Iraq.
