Nobel Peace Prize-winners Shirin Ebadi and Jody Williams talked about initiatives to improve relations between the United States and Iran. Ms. Ebadi talked about the political and social situation in Iran, including human rights and women’s rights and the Iranian reform movement. Professor Williams talked about the efforts of the Nobel Women’s Initiative, which she co-founded with Ms. Ebadi, to promote direct talks between Iran and the United States. After the presentations, they both responded to questions from members of the audience. close
