Michael Durant talked about the book he co-wrote with Steven Hartov, The Night Stalkers, published by Putnam. The book details the history of the army’s elite Special Operations Aviation Regiment which was founded in the 1970s and first went to war in Grenada in 1983. Mr. Durant, who was a member of the Night Stalkers, retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 and master aviator. He participated in combat operations in the Persian Gulf, Panama, Iraq, and Somalia where he was shot down and held captive while piloting a Blackhawk helicopter as part of the 160th SOAR (A). close
