Tyler Drumheller talked about his book, On the Brink: An Insider’s Account of How the White House Compromised American Intelligence, published by Carroll and Graf. Mr. Drumheller retired in 2005 after a 26-year career in the Central Intelligence Agency, spent undercover except for three months. He was a former chief of the agency’s clandestine operations in Europe. He talked about the U.S. intelligence services and the war in Iraq, including the Bush administration’s evidence-gathering prior to the invasion of Iraq. He asserted that the administration pressured the CIA to confirm the existence of weapons of mass destruction, and that such actions will have long-term effects on the intelligence community. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions. close
