The Senate Foreign Relations Committee conducted committee business and marked up a concurrent resolution expressing bipartisan opposition to an increased military presence in Iraq. Members expressed their views on the president’s proposals to augment forces in Iraq and the potential impact of the resolution which stated that further military involvement in Iraq was not in the national interest.
