John Agresto gave the final luncheon keynote speech at the Global Democracy Conference on U.S. policy in Iraq. Dr. Agresto was a member of the Coalition Provisional Government in Iraq and assisted in the drafting of the new constitution. In his remarks he focused on mistakes made in U.S. policy toward Iraq, the roots of sectarian violence and threats to security in the region, the potential for political cooperation among Iraqi factions, and the future of democracy in the region. He also answered questions from the audience. close
