President Bush held a news conference in the East Room of the White House. He talked about operations in Iraq, Iranian involvement in insurgent activities in Iraq, and a congressional resolution on the future of his Iraq policy. He was also repeatedly asked by reporters to explain an apparent contradiction between U.S. military officials in Baghdad and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, over Iranian government involvement in the purported supply of weapons that have been used against U.S. forces in deadly roadside bombings in Iraq. close
