At a plenary session of the winter meeting Rep. Gordon, chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, and Senator Alexander, ranking Republican of the Senate Education Subcommittee on Early Childhood Development, talked about proposed legislation to aid competitiveness. Topics included scholarships for teachers of math and science, energy conservation, technology innovation, unfunded mandates, and helping states and the U.S. become more competitive.
