Peter Irons talked about his book God on Trial: Dispatches from America’s Religious Battlefields, published by Viking. Professor Irons, also a constitutional lawyer, outlined major court cases involving the separation of church and state, including a cross in a public park, organized prayer at high school football games, Ten Commandment displays in courtrooms, the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools, and teaching the intelligent design theory in schools. His book incorporated first-person accounts from those involved on both sides of each case. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions. close
