John McCardell, president emeritus of Middlebury College, talked about the effectiveness of The National Minimum Legal Drinking Age Act. He argued that making the legal drinking age 21 has not reduced alcohol consumption but has only forced it into riskier environments behind closed doors, underground, and off campus. He urged re-evaluating the law. Following his prepared remarks he answered questions from members of the audience. close
