As part of a forum on reducing high school dropout rates, Professor Sesno served as master of ceremonies and Tim Russert made opening remarks. Sway Calloway moderated a youth perspective roundtable in which high school dropouts talked about why they left school, and other students talked about why they stayed in school. A panel of four experts talked about dropout rates, causes, and promising solutions. They responded to questions from members of the audience.

This “National Summit on America’s Silent Epidemic” was sponsored by MTV, TIME Magazine, the National Governors Association, Civic Enterprises, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. close
