General John Cooke talked about trends in the federal appeals court system over the last 30 years. Topics included changes in the caseload, types of appeals, and the differences between the military and federal courts. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.

General Cooke retired from the Army in 1998 with the rank of brigadier general. His last position was chief judge of the Army Court of Criminal Appeals and commander of the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency.

The annual judicial conference of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces was held at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. close
