Gun Microstamping Technology
Mr. Horwitz and the inventor Mr. Lizotte explained the gun microstamping technology Lizotte developed. Microstamping, which is called the next generation in ballistics information technology, provides a more effective method to connect bullet casings found at the scene of a shooting with the weapon that was fired. Topics included the role of ballistic evidence and how microstamping could have aided in past cases such as the “Beltway Sniper.”
The briefing was followed by a live firing demonstration.
