David Gartner talks about President Bush’s AIDS plan, announced May 30, which calls for a $30 billion effort over five years to treat 2.5 million people worldwide with AIDS and to prevent it from spreading. The president’s first AIDS plan, begun in 2003, is up for renewal in 2008. He talked about hopes for European countries to help with AIDS funding. Clips of President Bush’s recent comments on his AIDS plan were shown. Mr. Gartner responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
