Ian Scott Wilson talked about the first prize-winning video in the middle school section which he produced, When the Boys Come Home: The Controversy at Walter Reed. Ian Scott Wilson is an 8th-grade student at Luther Jackson Middle School in Falls Church, Virginia. After the video was shown, he responded to questions from callers. Ian’s older brother, Army Sergeant Gordon “Gordy” Hamm, participated by telephone from where he is serving in Iraq. A video clip was shown of a meeting Ian Scott Wilson had with Senator John Warner after winning the contest.

C-SPAN Classroom’s StudentCam video documentary contest was a national competition in which middle and high school students produced a documentary exploring a current political topic using some C-SPAN footage and covering multiple viewpoints. The local cable company was Cox Communications. close
