Rajan Menon talked about his book The End of Alliances, published by Oxford University Press. He argued that the U.S. should consider ending the alliances it has developed since the end of World War II, saying the U.S. should consider creating temporary or limited alliances based on its needs and foreign policy goals. Michael Mandelbaum and Doug Bandow provided commentary. After their presentations, the participants responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.

Professor Menon also wrote Soviet Power and the Third World. close
